Snappy H’appy photo challenge week 10

Snappy H’appy photo challenge week 10

Your typist today – Mary

I know this post is going up way later than usual. We were going to travel today, but got everything packed and ready yesterday so we left in the late afternoon. We didn’t get here till 9pm, and by the time we got settled, it was to late to worry about a blog post. We are in the high desert, (can I hear a YES!!) about 25 miles north of St. George, Utah. We are at the site of our clubs mountain man rendezvous, which takes place next weekend. We came early to chill in the quite for a few days.
OK, on to the photo challenge. We live in a flat posted late yesterday what this weeks app was going to be. I had a couple of photos on my phone, so I played with them in Picsart as we drove. I have to say, I am enjoying this challenge because I have learned some fun new things that I probably never would have figured out. This week is all about color splash. I have always liked this look, and I had no idea that Picsart could do such a neat job with this. I learned that Picsart gives you the ability to choose two or three colors to use as your color splash. It’s pretty exact too. I was surprised and pleased with the way this one turned out.

In the days of my youth

In the days of my youth

Mom was going through some pictures yesterday and found these. I was 3 1/2 years old. Wow, how time flies when you’re having fun. Look how much darker my fur was. And yes, I was not as “fluffy” then either. {{SIGH}}
This is a picture of me with dad on one of our hikes. I have always loved hiking.

Artsy Fartsy Tuesday – Latest projects

Artsy Fartsy Tuesday – Latest projects

Your typist today – Mary

We are trying to get some stuff ready for the upcoming art show summer, that’s why we are in Utah at the moment. Al still has his shop here and he can get some wood carving done. I have been doing some beadwork pieces, some traditional, some more contemporary. I have finished a couple of smaller wall hangings, I was pretty pleased with the way the last one turned out.
I used some of the bronze splatters we picked up at the foundry where Al has his sculptures cast. These two had great shape. This first one obviously needed to be made into a butterfly.

I beaded around the bronze piece, then added 3 different colors of copper wire to hang it from.

Black and White Sunday

Black and White Sunday

These are by far the cutest and funniest pics I took this week. If you follow us on instagram or facebook, you saw them in full color a few days ago. (and if you don’t follow us, why not?) This first photo needs explaining. I was doing yoga, and I was in the down dog position. Which means, I was on my hands and feet, my butt in the air and looking backwards through my legs. So everything was upside down. And there was Torrey, laying on her back and looking at me. For some reason my phone was right there, so I grabbed it and took the picture. So she is upside down, from an upside down point of view.
