Artsy Fartsy Tuesday – Latest projects

Your typist today – Mary

We are trying to get some stuff ready for the upcoming art show summer, that’s why we are in Utah at the moment. Al still has his shop here and he can get some wood carving done. I have been doing some beadwork pieces, some traditional, some more contemporary. I have finished a couple of smaller wall hangings, I was pretty pleased with the way the last one turned out.
I used some of the bronze splatters we picked up at the foundry where Al has his sculptures cast. These two had great shape. This first one obviously needed to be made into a butterfly.

I beaded around the bronze piece, then added 3 different colors of copper wire to hang it from.

Black and White Sunday

Black and White Sunday

These are by far the cutest and funniest pics I took this week. If you follow us on instagram or facebook, you saw them in full color a few days ago. (and if you don’t follow us, why not?) This first photo needs explaining. I was doing yoga, and I was in the down dog position. Which means, I was on my hands and feet, my butt in the air and looking backwards through my legs. So everything was upside down. And there was Torrey, laying on her back and looking at me. For some reason my phone was right there, so I grabbed it and took the picture. So she is upside down, from an upside down point of view.

Snappy H’appy photo challenge #9

Snappy H’appy photo challenge #9 – Photo Friday

Your typist today – Mary

This weeks photo challenge is double exposure. Since I don’t shoot with a film camera, not many people do anymore, I learned how to get the double exposure effect using Photoshop. This was one thing I had never played with in Photoshop, but I’m glad I took the time to learn. It was actually super easy, I like that!
If you head over to We live in a flat she covers how you can use some mobile apps to get the double exposure effect. And Meghan over at Firebonnet, is sharing some great photos too.
And since today is my ever so favorite See Beautiful blog hop, I am going to share these beautiful photos there too.
Ok, lets start. These are some photos I took the other day on my walk in the canyon. I have been waiting for the Glacier lilies to bloom. I love these little flowers. They are beautiful, but so short lived.
I combined this photo,

WOOF Support blog hop #3

WOOF Support blog hop #3

The theme for today’s WOOF support blog hop is, what I love about my reactive dog. This is easy. Torrey is incredibly lovable in so many ways. But in relation to the WOOF blog hop, I would have to say I love that she is smart enough to follow directions. I have been working on getting her to sit when other dogs walk past for over a year now. She does a most excellent job at this now. One reason she is so easily trained, is she loves treats, oh and praise too. Mostly treats. But I am not the best at always having treats on a walk, so praise works for her too.
