Thursday thoughts with Torrey – Unity lake, Oregon

Hey everyone, it’s my day to post again and I have some great pictures. As Roxy said yesterday, we stayed Tuesday night at a really great place. We traveled all afternoon to get closer to the rendezvous spot. We have never been to Oregon before, and it was fun to see new places. As the evening got closer, we found a place called Unity Lake. There is a state park here, and it is soooo nice. Great camp sites, grass everywhere, and of course the lake. The wind was blowing when we walked down to the water and there were waves. This was fun and kinda different for me.

I ran and chased, and splashed in the water. It felt so good.

Then we walked around some more and saw a bunch of different birds. Including a golden eagle that hovered over us really close for a minute. I think he wanted Roxy, but then he flew away.

Mom took some pictures of me that she says turned out beautiful.

I am writing this Tuesday evening from the campground. We are leaving in the morning for rendezvous. Hopefully we have service and can keep on blogging.

One stop camping spot

Well, we hit the road yesterday and drove until we found a nice spot to spend the night. It’s unusually hot for this area, and this early in the year. Despite the A/C in the truck we were all hot and tired. So when we found this little campground with huge tall shade trees, we knew that was the perfect place to spend the night.

We were able to run and around and stretch our legs, which is always a good thing. And of course, mom found flowers to take pictures of.

There were squirrels everywhere too. Chattering in the trees, running through the bushes. Torrey about went bonkers.

We are leaving Idaho, probably today, and heading to Seneca, Oregon. Mom made an appointment in Boise for Torrey to get a hair cut on Wednesday. She may try to move this to today so we can get to Oregon. The weather there is in the high 60′s or low 70′s and we all think that sounds awesome.

We are headed to another rendezvous. Pacific primitive. This is a 10 day primitive rendezvous. What that means is, only buckskinners are allowed. No “flat landers” or “tourists” as they are called. This makes it extra special fun. It is truly a step back in time. Everything in camp from tents to clothing have to be period correct from the pre 1840′s. The coolest thing about this, everyone looks out for each other. There is never any stealing going on, or other every day bad things that are in the “real’ world. We have never been to this particular 10 day primitive and are very excited to go someplace new and meet new people. This will be our last rendezvous until August. Hopefully we can keep blogging, and posting pictures so everyone can come along for the fun.
