These are our answers to the questions.
When did you begin you blog?
January 22nd 2011. Our blogaversary is fast approaching.
What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
We travel for fun as much as possible. We love to camp, go to mountain man rendezvous, and be out as much as possible.We also travel for our work. We are artists, and we go to art shows, and galleries. Roxy has always been along for the ride. And she loves it. Everywhere we take her, people love her too. So I thought writing about all this, and talking about our art would be a great blog. Kind of a unique idea.
Is your current purpose the same?
Absolutely. It’s expanded now to include other artists. Every week I have Artsy Fartsy Tuesday, where I feature a different artist. This has grown into a really fun and popular weekly post. And on Fridays we have the Shop dog report, were Roxy talks about our latest projects and the progress on them.
Do you blog on a schedule, or as the spirit moves you?
Schedule for sure. With two days that are specific for posts, and the Wordless Wednesday and now the Monday mischief blog hops, I have to be scheduled. I’m kinda scheduled in my life in general anyway.
Are you generating income from your blog?
A little. I have one paid ad running right now, and I’m looking for other companies that would like to do the same.
What do you like most about blogging in general, and your blog in particular?
The fun connections I have made with other people, and events. I had never even read a blog before starting this one. Such a fun blogosphere out there. I love when some person I have never met says,” I love the Roxy blog!!” That makes me feel really good. I have some followers who tell me they go through withdrawal when we are taking a blogging break. I feel I have created a fun niche between dogs, travel stories, and the art. I love that I am introducing new artists to people. And my readers have enjoyed watching projects come together. That’s not something you would normally get to be a part of.
What do you like least?
It takes more time than I would like. That’s mostly my fault since I write this blog and two others. And, trying to find artists for the weekly feature can sometimes be overwhelming. I’m waiting for the day they come knocking on my door. LOL!
How do you see you blog growing/changing in 2012?
See above statement about artists contacting me to be featured. Well maybe, maybe not. Mostly I want to make more connections with other bloggers and businesses. I love doing review/giveaways for dog products. It’s nice to find new things that I might not know about, and to pass that information on to my readers. I am having more companies contact me, and I want to cultivate and grow this part of the blog. Mostly, I want to continue having a blast writing Roxy’s blog, and to meet more great bloggers. It’s all about the fun!!

I love Roxy’s travelling pictures. I thought he was much bigger until I saw the pic of him in your arms. We’ve read blogs about dog and art. We’ve read blogs about dogs and travelling. I think this is the first blog we’ve come across about dogs, art, and travelling! We like to go camping with our dogs too so I’m looking forward to reading your travelling posts in 2012!
