The Honest Kitchen dog food
In mom’s perpetual search for smaller, lighter everything to carry in our RV, she decided to try out The Honest Kitchen dog food. She bought a small amount from a local store to see if we liked it, and if it liked us. (Haha.) Guess what…..we LOVE it!! This is where the mischief part comes in. We love it so much that now we wake mom up in the morning because we want to be fed. And 5 o’clock in the evening comes around, it’s time to eat, right now. (yes, Torrey and I can tell time) We whine, whimper, and generally create a fuss until our bowls and bellies are full. Oh sure, we’ve always liked when it’s time to eat. Who doesn’t? But mom says we are out of control now, and dad actually threw shoes at us the other morning because we wanted to eat, and he wanted to sleep more. Thankfully mom got up and saved the day.
These pictures don’t REALLY show how impatient we are, or the whining of course.
Anyway, let me tell you about why we switched to this yummy food. The reason mom wanted to try it out is because it’s dehydrated. A 10 pound box will make 40 pounds of fresh food. Living in the RV now, and trying to find room for a 40 or 50 pound bag of dog food, it’s not easy. So this 10 pound box doesn’t take up much room, and certainly doesn’t weigh a lot.
Plus the ingredients are top quality, human grade, and did I mention delicious? Fresh meats, veggies and fruits go into every box. We eat “Force”, because it’s grain free.
Mixing the food is super simple. Mom just figured out how much we each need in a day, and measures and mixes it up in the evening for us to eat the next day. We each have our own container, so Torrey doesn’t get more than me, or vice versa.
Mom admits she is a little weird about this part, but it works for her.
When The Honest Kitchen became our sponsor, they sent one of their supplements to try. We chose “Sparkle”, because it’s for skin and coat health. It’s a blend of herbs that mom mixes into our food. Mom thinks at the moment we are too filthy to really feel our coats, but we look good just the same.
This is the food ready to eat.
Trying to be patient
So I guess it’s not really our fault we are now full of mischief when it comes time to eat, I think mom is to blame for giving us such delicious food.
Be sure to visit The Honest Kitchen and see if there food is right for you. But don’t blame me if you become mischievous too.
Be sure to hop along on today’s Monday Mischief bloghop.
Looks tasty! I’m glad that you like it (and hope that it likes you!)
I can imagine the whining, trust me.

Thank you for mentioning this. My Freddy has such chronic allergies. He sneezes, has trouble breathing, the whole shebang. So I have ordered 4 sample packets to try. I sure hope he likes this food!! I know that impatient look– if we have a roasted chicken smelling up the house, they get that crazed look in their eyes!

You are two very lucky dogs. Very spoiled to I might add. Of course my two doggies are spoiled and pampered. That’s how all pets should be. “Pampered and spoiled” I would take a dog over a human any day; or a cat.
Ha-ha! Lucky your Mom woke up and saved you from being hit by any more shoes! lol!
The food looks great, I have always wanted to give this a try!

Hey Guys,
5am? Jeepers, I’m not an early bird (or Dog!), so I’d probably be flinging the shoes at you too if you woke me up that early!! Tee Hee
Sounds like a great space saver, cos I know my food takes up lots of room!!
Enjoy guys,

What a phenomenal idea! Better than the gravy food, by far. That’s … amazing! Thanks for the heads up!

What a wonderful option for the traveling dogs such as your fine selves. Looks yummy!!
This is GREAT! Buster and Ty have been on THK for a couple years now and it’s been great. For those of us living in RVs, it’s perfect and the dogs absolutely love it.
We love Honest Kitchen!!
Hope you all are doing well!

Chester and Gretel demand to be fed EVERY DAY at 5 am and 5 pm…so I know what you feel like. I don’t keep any shoes in my room so I don’t have one to throw though
Glad you guys like the food. A 10 lb box sure makes a lot.
