This product review is brought to you by the mom today, she writes a little better than me when it comes to stuff like this.
While we’re not in the scorching heat, like so much of the country this year, it still gets warm for the dogs when we walk or hike on a warm sunny day. Keeping them cool has always been a challenge. Torrey has such thick hair, even though I keep her trimmed short, and Roxy gets hot because of her dark color. When we go hiking they will run ahead and find shade, then wait for us to catch up. Roxy peters out fast in the heat, she is getting older I guess. So I got online and tried to find something that could help the dogs stay cooler when we are not hiking near water. I found a company called Kumfy Tailz and they sent me some samples to try out and write a review. Kumfy Tailz was the idea of Gail, who was inspired by the hot and cold wraps that are available for people. She found a vet to work with and they created this great product.
It works by keeping the cooling gel pack next to the dogs tummy where there is less hair, and all the vital organs are. The gel pack can also be placed in the microwave to warm the dog in cold weather. This will be great for Roxy, she gets cold pretty easy in the winter.
The gel packs are flexible even right out of the freezer, and they slip right into the pouch on the harness.
There is a clip on the back of the harness for a leash, and the whole harness is super comfy for walks.
So if you want to help your dog stay cooler this hot summer, or if you are looking forward to winter but your little dog freezes, then give this great product a look. There is a ton of information on their website that talks about how and why they work so well. So check them out and keep those doggies comfortable.
That is so cool, my seatbelt in the car is like that but I can’t put a cool pack in it. I’ms gonna check that out.
Have a great Friday

This is interesting. Can I ask a question… how cold is it and how long does it last?
Hey Torrey and Roxy, don’t forget to keep yourselves hydrated when you go on hikes,

It’s pretty cold, and I think how long it lasts would depend greatly on how hot it is. So far it’s been great for us.
Hi and thanks for all the great comments and feedback. We are pretty excited about our harnesses and the new coat coming out in a few months and perfect for those of you in cold climates. To answer your question @haopee, the gel pack stays warm/cool for up to an hour but Roxy is right, it really determines on how hot or cold it is outside.
For those of you who may be interested, we just opened our online store at http://www.KumfyTailz.com. It took awhile but it is up and running. And feel free to share your feedback. We embrace it!
Woof!
I am so wanting to try this for our dog! I ordered using their sizing guidelines…and was so disappointed as it was too small for our girl. Any pointers? Thanks!
How adorable! Great for hiking in the hot summers!
