We had another great trip to the desert
Saturday and Sunday we went walking in the desert in some pretty cool places. On Saturday we went to a place called Black mountain where there is a bunch of petroglyphs. We walked all around and saw some great rock formations, and of course petroglyphs.
We had so much fun running all around, especially Torrey. Mom climbed up a sandy hill while dad stayed down below, and Torrey ran up and down that hill several times. We went with our friends, who live here, the same friends we go to rendezvous with. This is Auntie Shannon and Auntie Myra.
And here is dad with Uncle Jed.
There were quite a few petroglyphs.
And very cool things to see.
Then on Sunday, we went to a place were there are dinosaur foot prints still on the ground. How awesome is that!
Can you see those, they are as big as me. It’s so amazing to think that footprints could have been made in the mud a bazillion years ago, and still be there. We were walking on rock, were the footprints are. After we looked at the footprints, we walked down a dry stream bed and mom and dad looked for rocks….of course. There are more awesome pictures on Desert Raven Art today. Including some pictures of this awesome mica mine we went to.
Today is the Monday Mischief blog hop, come hop along.
that looks like a super cool place to hike. You are blessed that you get to see so many different beautiful spots!

What a fantastic place. Are the petroglyphs native American then?
You look 100% a creature of the desert, Roxy!

looks to good to be true. I’m glad your in a warm place. Its been so cold here even Sugar and Lucy goats water trough froze up and Mike had to pour hot water in a bucket and try to unfreeze it enough to take an ax to it. Someone dumped off a huge Tom cat that tried to kill the chickens but just got feathers. I wish people wouldn’t dump off animals. The dog next door ran off a few days and came back expecting.. there’s another problem. When Reggie and Ollie come in the house their feet aren’t even wet because its frozen solid outside. They are minding so well with the obiendence training.
Brrrrr. We left just in time.

That looks like fun, but I would be worried about snakes. Are there snakes there? Do you carry a snake bite kit?

That could be snakes in the summer, right now it’s too cold.

Roxy, we love going with you on all your adventures. Sometimes we get a little jealous because it is below zero here. Mom says that we need to heading south with Roxy.
Come and see the frosty white trees that we woke up to.

Roxy mom is fascinated by what you got to see on your walk…Dinosaur footprints! OMD! and those petroglyphs…do you have a guess at how old they are? Also mom sez this is the first time she’s seen that gorgeous beaded collar you have on and wants you to tell your mom how much she likes it

The petroglyphs are around 2000 years old, some older. And the dinosaur footprints blew us away too. Think how old they are!!

So jealous that you are in the southwest right now. I could go for some sunshine and a hike to check out rocks. I always love the contrast of red rocks in pictures. It makes Torry and Roxy stand out.
